What changed
- Clients, contacts, projects, jobs and invoices held as one connected record
- Draft invoices created in the accounting system rather than typed, leaving review with the practice
- Meetings, leave, site visits and reminders visible in one calendar view
Where they started
Audit work is job-shaped: a client, a project, an auditor, a fee and eventually an invoice. Those five things lived in different places — spreadsheets for fees, a calendar for site visits, an accounting package for invoicing — so answering "where is this job and what has it earned" meant checking three systems.
What we built
A Zoho Creator application with client, contact, project, job and invoice modules, so the whole chain sits on one record. Their accounting system is integrated for draft invoice creation, which means invoices are prepared automatically but still reviewed by the practice before they go out.
A calendar widget surfaces meetings, leave, site visits and reminders in one view, which is what the team actually looks at each morning.
