The Lawrence School, Lovedale

Fifteen modules, one institution

Admissions on paper, fees in one place, HR in another, and fifteen operational areas with no common record. Now one platform from enquiry and entrance exam through to fee reconciliation, payroll and the hostel register.

What changed

  • Enquiry, entrance exam, offer and enrolment as one flow, with digital offer letters
  • Fee billing and reconciliation visible in real time rather than at the end of a term
  • Requisition through to payslip as one HR chain: Recruit, People, Payroll
  • Procurement, inventory, hostel, library and medical tracking on the same platform

Applicants, staff and suppliers feed a Zoho platform where Creator holds admissions, student records, academics and auxiliary operations, and Books, People, Recruit, Payroll and Procurement handle finance, HR and supply chain, reporting to management, parents and students.

Where they started

A residential school running the whole institutional lifecycle on manual and paper-based processes: enquiry and entrance exam handled separately from admission, student records apart from fees, and HR, procurement, inventory, hostel, library and medical tracking each in their own system or none at all. Nothing that management wanted to see across the institution could be seen without assembling it by hand.

What we built

One integrated platform, with Zoho Creator as the application layer for admissions, student records, academics and the auxiliary operations, and Books, People, Recruit, Payroll and Procurement handling finance, HR and supply chain natively rather than through custom code.

Admissions run from enquiry to enrolment with automated notifications and digital offer letters, feeding directly into student management and fee management. HR and payroll are one chain — requisition in Recruit, onboarding and attendance in People, payslip generation in Payroll. Fifteen modules report into one set of analytics.
